about us......
Waldau's Junior Golf, Inc., a non-profit organization located
in Okeechobee, Florida started in 1992 when Jim Waldau held his first golf
party, which was a gathering for his firefighter friends from the City of
Hialeah Fire Department for a weekend of golf, party and fellowship.
 |
The golf party became so popular that in 1994,
Jim decided to turn his
Golf Party into a benefit for Junior Golfers and began to award
college scholarships,
as well as help support the local high school
golf team.
The benefit also helps young junior golfers through Waldau's Junior
Golf
Van Moore Memorial Young Junior Golf Award Program.
The organization has grown to include five events in 2009:
Okeechobee County Junior Championship, 2 Junior Golf Clinics,
1st annual Junior/Adult Championship
and the famous Waldau Junior Golf Party Tournament.
Waldau's Junior Golf, Inc. is positioned to
promote the sport of golf to
Elementary, Middle, and High School students.
Long term wishful plans are to open a state-of-the art Driving Range and
Learning Center within close proximity to local schools.
Our purpose is to provide area children with a facility to give them
an opportunity to learn a popular sport they can play for the
rest of their lives.
|
Jim's goal is to give the children
an early start in an activity
that encourages family interaction,
friendly competition and a lifetime of
benefits. |
