We will miss our friend, Ron "Cheeseburger" Schmidt
Ron Schmidt has been a Waldau's Junior Golf
sponsor since 1994.
"Cheesy" was also a vibrant participant at
most of our tournaments
during the past 15 years.
His laughter
and the fun he always brought to the tournament
and to our lives will be missed.
Our tournaments and junior golf programs will certainly feel this void.
Because of your support, we have given out 8 Scholarships in his memory
.
Fish on Cheeseburger until we hear your laughter
again!

Ronald L. Schmidt, age 40,
of Okeechobee went Home to be with our Lord and Saviour
Saturday, July 15, 2006. Mr. Schmidt was born
August 15, 1965 in St. Louis, MO
to Donald and Dorothy Schmidt.
Ron
was a 1983 graduate of Okeechobee High School.
He worked for Lefty Durando at Box Ranch
and at Ken Lones Landscaping as a foreman.
In
1990, Ron established American Asphalt and Paving Company
which he
owned and operated.
He was an avid fisherman and enjoyed taking his friends
and family out on his boat aptly named
“Cheeseburger in Paradise”.
He came to Okeechobee in 1980.
Ron Schmidt will be
missed
by his many
golfing friends!
